Diana / Rush

Pointing out that at one point in Diana the moping title character puts on a tune and the introduction reveals that it is indeed All By Myself would be kicking a film when it’s down. Then again, at one point in Rush the main characters are surrounded by an adoring public and the soundtrack kicks into Fame by David Bowie. Cinema for the blind.

I reviewed Diana for Critic’s Notebook, but the two films are really a pair, going through the motions of a process which used to work but now seems a misguided effort.
